The YouthBuild Program serves to help youth build a bridge to success. Participants are youth ages 18-24 who are withdrawn from High School and meet income eligibility guidelines. YouthBuild provides education and job skill opportunities to at-risk youth while providing low cost housing to low-income families. Through the efforts of the Youth Build Staff and students, one or two homes are completed each year. Eight Youth Build students obtain their GED each year and are assisted in finding permanent employment. YouthBuild is a nine month training program that consists of construction training, GED instruction, and Life Skills/ Leadership Development counseling. Adult mentoring and case management is provided to help the youth overcome any barriers that may prevent them from becoming self-sufficient. Youth will also be assisted with making the connections to higher education.
