Home Energy Assistance Program is a federally funded program to provide assistance once per heating season (November 1st – March 31st) to eligible low-income homeowners and renters whose heat has been disconnected or threatened with disconnection, or who have less than a ten-day supply of bulk fuel.

For eligible customers, HEAP will restore or maintain the primary heat source and/or secondary energy source up to the State of Ohio maximum benefit. Users of fuel oil/propane may receive a benefit also. HEAP’s purpose is to resolve a client’s heating crisis and will not cover total debt owed. A client co-payment may be necessary to resolve the crisis.
